what we do?

Phase I - I am a Struggler (Building Foundational Literacy) :

Most of the children arrive with limited reading and writing skills due to poor schooling and lack of exposure. This stage focuses on helping them become comfortable with letters, words, and simple sentences through interactive storytelling, phonics-based games, and read-aloud sessions. With access to bilingual books in Marathi, Hindi, and English, plus personalized support from trained volunteers, children begin to decode words and understand basic texts in a supportive, pressure-free environment building their confidence to read independently.

Phase II – I am a Reader (Cultivating a Reading Habit):

Once foundational skills are established, children are encouraged to read for pleasure. They freely choose books that spark their interests whether comics, folk tales, science fiction, or biographies. Social and engaging activities like book journaling, reading ladders, peer reading clubs, thematic reading weeks, and recognition programs such as "Reading Stars of the Month" make reading fun and motivate children to develop a joyful, lasting habit.

Phase III – I am a communicator (Enhancing Communication and Self-Expression

As children become confident readers, this stage nurtures their ability to express ideas through speaking and writing. They participate in discussions, storytelling, drama, poetry, and public speaking, learning to reflect, question, and articulate their thoughts clearly and confidently. Children also take leadership roles as Reading Champions, guiding peers and leading activities. Language games and creative prompts further develop their skills to communicate effectively within their classrooms, families, and communities.
